For decades, the Coin Laundry has served the Plaza District surrounding neighborhoods. With the youngest son working his way through college, and the elderly father too tired to run the operation, the family put the business up for sale. Knowing the building would be in good hands, the family sold Friendly Coin Laundry to Sweet Sixteenth LLC, a new group devoted to investing in Plaza District's continued revitalization.
The building includes 1500 sq ft of currently open space, and the 1500 sq ft vacant lot directly west. We are looking for creative ideas for the development of the space which will serve the neighborhood and Plaza District well. The building's neighbors include Lyric Theatre, PhotoArt Studios and Urban Wineworks, and we are looking for a tenant that will energize and complement the existing business mix.
The time is right for the Plaza District. The momentum of our grassroots revitalization is taking off, and the energy of our progress is contagious. Fowler Volkswagen of Norman has been a catalyst behind much of that progress, and they’re not finished yet. Fowler VW is offering up to $1250 in rent support (up to the first 6 months) to the tenant selected by the developer. With this support, Fowler VW is both growing local business and spurring Plaza District progress. So, here’s your chance to be a part of the Plaza District Dream Team. Dream big, dream serious, or if you’re interested, submit your local business. We would love our community's input on making this place, a place you want to be.
